Year 5 and 6 Residentials 2023

Lesson: Geography

Class: Year 5 Year: 2022 - 2023

Once again we have been blessed with amazing weather during our Year 5 residential to Castleton. We visited Treak Cliff cavern and found out about various types of rocks and that this is the only cave in the world where you can find Blue John. The children enjoyed a walk through the Derbyshire countryside, learning about the local area and the features of the landscape. We also went on a fossil hunt, built dens, panned for jems, made candles and learnt how to light fires! The highlight of the residential was spending time with thier friends and talking in their dorms until quite late!!

It was an absolute priviledge to spend time with our incredible children and to see them have such a wonderful time! They showed rescillience, determination, kindness and respect towards each other.

Year 6 have headed off on their adventure to the Conway Centre and have enjoyed canoeing, paddle boarding, high ropes and the night rope walk so far. We have been so lucky with the weather today - perfect for raft building and jumping in the sea!
