At Nevill Road Juniors we are very proud of the achievements we have been recognised for in PE, Sport and Physical Activity. Over the past 6 years, Nevill Road Junior school have recieved many awards in recognition of our commitment to Physical Education, Sport and Physical Activity. These include the Stockport Sport Award, The SHAPES award for providing opprtunities for children to stay active during lockdown and for Inclusion. Nevill Road Juniors have swept the board bringing away 6 trophies in total, at the Stockport School's awards 2022. We have also been crowned the winning school of the Commitment to Leadership & Volunteering and Commitment to Sporting Competition.   Our sports teams recently won the Transition Athletics and SEND Sports Hall Athletics. The school has also won the Stockport Rounders, Hockey & Girls' Cricket competitons.

We are delighted to announce that Nevill Road Juniors, have once again achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award. The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitatedby the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success. We are increadibly proud of these achievements and would like to say a huge thank you to the staff, parents and all the children who have made this possible. All of the children have access to at least two hours of PE lessons and participate in a range of clubs. We also work closely with SHAPES to ensure that our pupils can access tournaments and specialist teaching. All of our teachers are expected to teach PE and have regular CPD opportunities in order to ensure that the quality of education for all, is the best that it can be. We also offer opportunites to take part in a range of adventurous activities during the Year 6 residential to the Conway Centre. These include canoeing, paddle boarding, high ropes and low ropes.
